Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Location: On Site - San Antonio, Texas, United States

Salary: $75,000 - $110,000

This hands-on role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with operations personnel, fostering a proactive, behavior-based approach to health and safety. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits, hazard analysis, and update the company's safety manual.
  • Provide training in areas such as New Hire Orientation, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10, Competent Person, and Asbestos.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, standards, and policies.
  • Track employee development and On-The-Job Training (OJT) to ensure safe and effective job performance.
  • Foster a team environment by advising on corrections and cultivating positive relationships with customer representatives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs while maintaining detailed training documentation.
  • Prepare, schedule, and conduct regular QA/QC crew audits.
  • Maintain and develop safety knowledge in gas distribution, pipelines, and underground construction.
  • Assist in incident recordkeeping and investigation processes.
  • Travel throughout the United States as required.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Safety-related field or 3 years of verifiable experience OR 5-10 years of safety experience and OSHA 500 certification or equivalent (CSP, ASP, OHS, CHST, CSST, CSHO)
  • Strong presentation skills for leading regular Safety Meetings and trainings.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance audits in the natural gas and public utility industry.
  • Ability to identify and record proper and improper practices on a natural gas job site.
  • Experience in investigating accidents, incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate across company departments.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Competent Person and Asbestos training.
  • Knowledge of behavior-based safety programs and management systems.
  • Familiarity with safety requirements for gas distribution or public utility industry.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
