Construction Safety Coordinator

Location: Chatham, VA

Duration: 3-6 Months (Start: June 30, 2025)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Job Details

• Hourly Rate: $50/hr non-local or ($60 local)
• Per Diem: $125/Day if over 50 miles from project location
• Completion Bonus: $150/month
• Pay: Weekly

Schedule:

• 60 hours; 6 10's, first shift & M-S

Project Scope

The construction safety manager will oversee safety for erosion repair under solar arrays.

Qualifications

Candidates must have ONE the following requirements:

• OSHA 500 or 510 with 5 years of construction safety OR
• CHST with 4 years of construction safety OR
• 4-year degree in Health and Safety with 5 years of experience in construction safety.
• Must have Solar construction experience

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations
• Provide safety training as needed
• Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety protocols
• Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence
• Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required

Skills & Knowledge

Skills:

• Excellent public speaking and communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• OSHA outreach training experience (preferred)
• Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information

Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction
• Ability to effectively communicate safety principles and regulations
