This role is responsible for preparing coffee shop beverages and food, operating cash register and receiving payment in a timely and efficient manner while displaying courteous customer service. Compensation includes a competitive hourly rate plus tips. Responsibilities include preparing coffee shop beverages; brewing, mixing and/or blending beverages according to set standards; preparing food items according to procedures; ensuring food and beverages are handled safely and according to guidelines; operating cash register to itemize customer purchases and process payments including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, coupons, etc.; stocking items and rotating coffee items and merchandise displays; maintaining understanding of current store programs and product locations; understanding use of check-stand and coffee shop equipment; notifying department lead or manager if products and supplies need to be ordered; complying with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling; maintaining a clean and well-stocked department; communicating company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers; following all PPE, safety, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines; and possibly being assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (preferred), one year of retail or related experience preferred, good verbal communication skills, good customer service and organizational skills, and basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills. Physical demands include lifting/moving up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods, bending, stooping, twisting, and exposure to varied temperatures and outside weather conditions. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
