Overview Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Transportation Planning/Traffic practice in Seattle, WA! Responsibilities Lead & Grow Your Own Transportation Practice – Exciting Leadership Opportunity! We are seeking a visionary leader with an entrepreneurial mindset to drive the growth of our Transportation Engineering practice. This is an opportunity to build your own practice, lead impactful projects, and shape the future of transportation solutions in the local area and beyond. Key Responsibilities: Define and execute a strategic vision for personal and regional practice growth, driving innovation and excellence. Lead and deliver a diverse range of transportation projects, including transportation planning, traffic engineering, roadway design, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Develop and strengthen relationships with municipal, state, and private clients, expanding our footprint in the industry. Pursue your own passions, clients, and business leads, with full support from a nationally recognized firm. Play a key role in marketing and business development efforts, securing new opportunities and partnerships. Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and technical excellence. Ensure project profitability and operational success, effectively managing budgets, scopes, and resource allocation. Operate with integrity and strong business principles, upholding the highest standards of leadership and service. Qualifications 12+ years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering and design, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Washington with expertise in transportation engineering and planning. Proven success in winning, leading, and delivering transportation projects in the local area. Established relationships with key stakeholders, including local DOTs, agencies, and municipalities. Strong business acumen, with experience managing projects profitably and navigating agency specifications. Exceptional leadership, communication, and technical skills, with the ability to inspire teams and collaborate at all levels. Client-focused mindset, with a passion for problem-solving and delivering innovative transportation solutions. Proven ability to mentor and develop staff, fostering a high-performance, growth-oriented culture. Demonstrated experience in resource management, ensuring teams are effectively aligned and projects run smoothly.
